BitTorrent Sync – bo tak nazwano nową usługę – zapewniać ma nieograczone i bezpieczne synchronizowanie plików. Za jej pomocą możemy zarówno tworzyć sobie zdalne kopie zapasowe, jak i przenosić dowolnych rozmiarów foldery z danymi pomiędzy użytkownikami i komputerami. Wszystkie dane są podczas przenoszenia szyfrowane, i co najważniejsze, nigdy nie trafiają do jakiejś niezależnej od użytkownika chmury. Jako że Sync bazuje na sieci P2P i nie potrzebuje przystanku w chmurze, możesz przenosić pliki z maksymalną obsługiwaną przez twoją sieć szybkością. Sync stworzyliśmy z myślą o obsłudze dużych plików, więc możesz synchronizować oryginalne pliki w wysokiej jakości – czytamy na blogu BitTorrent Inc.

Szybkość jest całkiem zadowalająca – mniejsze pliki (1-5 MB) pomiędzy laptopem i desktopem na redakcyjnym biurku zostały przeniesione niemal natychmiast. Przeniesienie ISO OpenSUSE zajęło już około 15 minut. Bez większych problemów można też pliki udostępniać innym użytkownikom – oprogramowanie pozwala na generowanie jednorazowych kluczy dostępowych i ustalanie poziomu dostępu.

Oczywiście SkyDrive czy Dropbox pozwalają robić to samo, ale usługa BitTorrenta daje nam pewność, że nikt poza nami nie uzyska dostępu do naszych plików. Jeśli więc jesteście zainteresowani, już teraz możecie wypróbować BitTorrent Sync, pobierając testowego klienta ze strony

New simplified UI:
UI was fully revised and now looks similar on all platforms. Also, UI was simplified significantly to make Sync usage faster, more understandable and convenient.
HTTPS links support:
HTTPS links can be produced by Sync, shared over non-secure channels and used on remote peer to exchange Keys securely, using X.509 certificates
Proxy server support added:
Direct connection is possible if only one of two peers resides behind the proxy though
Finder / Explorer integration added:
Right-clicking the folder in Explorer / Finder exposes "Share with BitTorrent Sync" item, which ads the folder to Sync and automatically generates a Key (Secret).
Moved folders support:
Sync tracks if synced folder moves and automatically adjusts paths to keep folder synced.
Sync performance optimization:
Affects data transfer speed, CPU consumption, peers discovery.

SYNC PRO FOR TEAMS AND INDIVIDUALS:
With 2.0, we’re rolling out a Pro tier that adds additional functionality for business workgroups and individuals that need more capabilities and control from Sync.
For Pro users:
Once all your personal devices (from laptops and phones to storage devices like a NAS device) are linked together – via a private identity – all of your shared folders are available to you, wherever you need them.
Folders can now be set up to access on-demand, letting you view the contents of a folder and only consume the files you need. It allows you to preserve the storage capacity of your devices, while having access to all your folders on all your devices.
Control folder ownership and permissions anytime, via a simple dropdown menu in the Peer List. This allows you to change access levels (Read-Only or Read & Write), make others owners of a folder, or revoke a user’s access. As the dynamics of the team or individuals you’re sharing with changes, this lets you act in real-time.
SYNC FOR ALL:
To ensure everyone has the ability to sync and share directly, without the barriers of the cloud, the core Sync functionality is free. Free users have the ability to synchronize up to 10 folders, with no limits on file sizes and transfer speeds. For the first 30 days, all Sync Pro functionality is enabled, allowing everyone to try these new features.
SYNC + NAS:
Running Sync on a NAS (network-attached storage) device is a great combination. Just installing Sync on your storage device allows all of your files to be accessible on any of your devices and sharable to anyone in the world. Sync allows you to create your own personal cloud – one that’s private and fast. It also becomes your always-on device, to keep your files always protected and available.
