Chrome Extension for Opera 2.0
One of the beneficial side-effects of Opera switching to the Blink rendering engine used by rival browser Google Chrome is that it’s actually now compatible with Chrome extensions. Extensions are small programs – typically written in HTML, CSS or JavaScript – that provide additional functionality. Opera already has its own Extensions store, but it’s not as popular as Chrome’s, which means you've less chance of finding the extension you need to add much-needed features to Opera.

What this extension does - as its name implies - is allow any version of Opera based on the Blink rendering engine (that means Opera 15.0 or later) to make use of Chrome extensions.

As things that do what they say on the tin go, its title pretty much covers its capabilities. Once installed – no restart required – you’ll be able to browse the Extensions portion of the Chrome web store and install those extensions in Opera using the Add to Opera button that appears. And because Opera uses the Blink rendering engine, things should go smoothly.

It’s worth noting that the extension – as it clearly states – does not work with Chrome web apps or themes. Neither will it work with older versions of Opera based on the browser’s original Presto web rendering engine.
