SUMo

SUMo to program typu software update monitor którego celem jest sprawdzanie czy dla naszego, zainstalowanego oprogramowania jest dostępna aktualizacja. W ten sposób mamy zawsze aktualne programy bez konieczności włączania automatycznych aktualizacji w każdym z nich i także bez uruchamiania poszczególnych aplikacji w celu ich aktualizacji .

Główne cechy programu:
Automatyczne wykrywanie zainstalowanego oprogramowania.
Wykrywanie wymaganych aktualizacji dla oprogramowania.
Możliwość zezwolenia na informowanie o wersjach beta.
Lista ignorowanych: w niektórych programach mogą nie być śledzone aktualizacje.
Podobno więcej prawidłowych wyników i mniej wyników fałszywych niż w innych monitorach aktualizacji

Niestety główną wadą programu (choć nie aż tak wielką) jest to że SUMo nie daje nam bezpośrednich linków do pobrania aktualizacji. Po kliknięciu zdobądź aktualizację program przenosi nas do strony ze statystykami używania nowych wersji programu i wyświetla liczbę użytkowników którzy korzystają z każdej z nich. Na stronie znajdują się też odnośniki do wyszukiwarek na serwisach z oprogramowaniem (np. snapfiles, softpedia), gdzie możemy pobrać nową wersję. Ale najlepiej używać SUMo tylko w celu sprawdzenia czy jest nowa wersja, a potem udać się na stronę domową danego oprogramowania i ją pobrać.
