Hello,

Anyone using Emsisoft Inetrnet Security..?

I just updated earlier my Emsisoft Internet Security and after that I got a notification that said,

As you have customized the global firewall rules in the past the new rules have not been automatically applied to your computer. To apply them, please go to Settings reset the "Global firewall rules" to factory defaults

I have not applied that yet as I fear loosing all my application rules. I manually set applications rules as sometimes Emsisoft has a habit of setting "All Allowed" on some applications.

So I backed EIS up and exported it to my EIS backup config folder.

So I want to ask if I "reset my settings to factory default" I will loose my application rules correct?

Can I just tick "Global Firewall Rules" there and leave the rest unchecked so I can still have my application rules? Check out the image below.

Anyone? Thanks!

I saw a reply there and seems that you will have to re-create all the rules you did all over again if you apply the new gobal rules. Resetting the rules to default will let you apply the new global rules but when you "import" your saved settings it will revert back to the "old" global rules! And Emsisoft did not even think about when they decided to merge "the application rules and global rules". Bad idea in my opinion.
