and tablets so far. For months, Google promised its VPN service would make its way to desktop, eventually. Around a week ago,

that Windows and Mac users can start downloading the VPN client, and the service is now fully operational.

To download and set up the Google One VPN client on your Windows computer or Mac, visit

and navigate to the card offering VPN protection for multiple devices (via

). It should be visible if you’re subscribed to the 2TB Google One plan. Click the View details button and then download the VPN client using the button in the lower right corner. Then, follow the on-screen instructions to install the client. After you've done this, you can access it using the taskbar notification when the VPN is active. The Quit VPN button exits the application.

Getting the VPN working on macOS uses the above steps followed by a few additional ones, like enabling a system extension, adding VPN configurations, and optionally approving auto-start capability for the VPN client. While the VPN is active, you can access the app’s settings by clicking the icon in the menu bar area.

Google One VPN is now available to all subscribers – MuyComputer

Google One VPN is now available to all subscribers. The Internet giant thus improves its entry offer for all users of its payment plan, one with which to expand the storage space of its cloud services for the consumer market, which it enhances with additions as interesting a priori as the one that concerns us

For context: Anyone can create a free Google account, which will get you 15GB of cloud storage spread across Gmail, Google Drive, and Google Photos. And if you need more? That’s when you sign up for some of the Google One plans: from the basic 100 GB for 1.99 per month or 19.99 per year (dollars, euros), all the way up to 30 TB and everything in between.

In addition to storage expansion, Google tries to make the subscription of Google One with different extras: technical assistance, more options in Android backups, occasional discounts in the Play Store, access to exclusive functions in their products (for example, the magic eraser of Google Photos)… The advantages vary (for example, before they offered three free months of Google Stadia).

Indeed, the Google VPN is one of the extras that the company makes available to Google One subscribers. The service, which as you know consists of creating an Internet connection that overlaps the system’s own, creating a kind of of encrypted connection that masks the user’s IP outside door for added security and privacy, among other things.

Google’s VPN debuted on Android at the end of 2020, a little over a year later it reached iOS and later it did the same with Windows and Mac. With a catch: only subscribers to Google One Premium plans (starting 2TB) had it at their fingertips. Until now, and it is that the Google VPN can already be used by all Google One subscribers, regardless of their plan. Ergo, you have a VPN for 1.99 per month or 19.99 per year (dollars / euros).

Which you may be wondering is it worth it, because you are worth it, it is worth very little economically speaking. And the answer is: it depends. It depends on what you are looking for. As with other services, Google VPN guarantees a stable and fast experience, as well as hiding your IP from all outgoing connections, including your Internet provider. Unlike other services, Google VPN does not allow you to choose a location, so you can forget about cheating.

Then there is the elephant in the room, since one of the main reasons to use a VPN is to protect privacy and we already know that privacy and Google are not exactly synonymous. According to
Zaloguj lub Zarejestruj się aby zobaczyć!
«Google will never use the VPN connection to record, sell or track your browsing activity.«. But you have to believe it, of course. The truth is that it is

although what the user uses is a precompiled.

Be that as it may, if you are a Google user and, even more, a Google One subscriber, it is most likely that you already use their services such as Gmail, Google Drive, Google Photos, Google Maps, etc., which means that the company does not he needs to track you down to get your information, because he already has it. Using the Google VPN can thus be a most convenient contradiction.

If you are interested in trying it, you can download Google VPN for Windows and Macwhile for Android and iOS You will find it integrated into the options of the Google One apps themselves. Keep in mind, however, that even though the use of a VPN is recommended due to the privacy and security advantages it provides, not everything is positive and the speed of the connection will be significantly reduced.
