gPodder to prosta aplikacja do pobierania darmowych nagrań, tak zwanych podcastów, z internetu i odtwarzanie ich na komputerze czy przenośnym odtwarzaczu multimedialnym.

Podkast, to publikacja dźwiękowa lub filmowa tworzona przez pasjonatów różnych dziedzin, najczęściej w cyklicznych odcinkach. Podcasty są obsługiwane praktycznie przez każdy nowszy program do katalogowania dźwięku.

Aplikacja obsługuje iPody, odtwarzacze MP3, telefony, RSS, Atom i YouTube RSS.
