TagScanner to rozbudowane narzędzie służące do edycji tagów plików muzycznych. Aplikacja obsługuje wiele formatów audio, w tym między innymi: MP3, OGG, Musepack, Monkey's Audio, FLAC, AAC, OptimFROG, SPEEX, WavePack, TrueAudio, WMA, MP4.
Aplikacja potrafi automatycznie tworzyć tag na podstawie nazwy pliku, czy też nadawać nazwy plików na podstawie informacji zawartych w tagu. Ponadto program pobiera informacje o utworach muzycznych z serwisów takich jak: Freedb i Amazon.
Dodatkowo program został wyposażony w odtwarzacz muzyki. Możliwe jest także tworzenie playlist i eksportowanie ich do formatów HTML, XLS, CSV.
