* Added ability to repair the NoFolderOptions policy.
* Changed the default "Delete" action label on infected critical system files into "Replace". The old text confused some users. Please note that Hitman Pro never deletes critical system files or the master boot record. By design, Hitman Pro replaces (when available) infected files or code with verified clean safe versions and data.
* Changed the "Do not delete" label into "Ignore".
* Fixed a bug where the command line arguments did not propagate after an update. This could result in the Hitman Pro window to appear while scanning silently.
* Removed the AV Ballot window.
* Added Buy Now button on Free/Trial license.
* Updated End-User License Agreement (EULA): The "Free License" permits you to use one copy of the Software solely for personal, noncommercial purposes.

The Dutch team behind Hitman Pro, SurfRight, have been working the last half-year on new revolutionary technology. We have developed a high performance proxy server with a special cloud interaction component, to be used on low-resource hardware, such as consumer routers. The goal: create protection for all connected devices in a (home) network, built inside the router – i.e. the user does not need to install any software to be protected.

Sitecom is the first router manufacturer we teamed up with to integrate our technology on their new Gigabit routers (even though our tech is designed to work on older entry devices as well). Our software in the router runs on embedded Linux and we optimized it to make efficient and optimal use of the available resources, in terms of memory and processing power. FYI, we have filed a patent application because of the unique integration of the cloud, for low-resource hardware and integrated circuits.

The cloud for Sitecom Cloud Security is using existing Hitman Pro technology, yet it is a completely different cloud with dedicated hardware. It is capable of handling millions of routers and is using scan technologies from multiple different Anti-Virus vendors. We currently have 4 different scanners but we can already announce that Emsisoft and IKARUS are again assisting us in the identification of malicious objects.

Our router-based technology does not influence the user web browsing experience and is currently setup to filter http-traffic, to block malicious binaries, drive-by downloads, malicious websites, phishing pages and (as an extra) unwanted web advertisements. Depending on the hardware in the router, the new Sitecom WLR-4000 router (their entry router with Sitecom Cloud Security) is capable of 50 Mbps throughput on http and costs EUR 79,99. Compare this with a high-end business UTM router like the Zyxel ZYWALL USG 300 (for 48 Mbps UTM throughput): theirs has just one (1) Anti-Virus engine and costs around EUR 1.689,00 (though the USG 300 has of course business features as well, like VPN).

But Sitecom is working with us to optimize the current implementation to handle e.g. a 120 Mbps connection, without the need to upgrade any hardware. If we are able to achieve this, the throughput will only be limited by hardware. A firmware upgrade will be made available for existing customers.


This week, there was also news about Intel and McAfee. Together they hope to provide hardware- and software-based cloud-security services as well:

“Intel will first offer security products through software and services and later offer security features via hardware, with a heavy focus on providing cloud security services, said Renee James, senior vice president and general manager at Intel's Software and Services Group”

We applaud these developments but we now already do this, on a routing device, on a relatively large scale, with *not* just one but multiple Anti-Virus vendors. And for just a couple of bucks!

To the fans of our Hitman Pro software, we are sorry that a new mayor release of Hitman Pro has been delayed because of our new hardware-based tech. But to excite everyone a bit, we have continued working on Hitman Pro 4, which will be equipped with another revolutionary first!

Jeśli komuś się aktywowała licencja automatycznie w Hitmanie Pro to :

We have begun reverting the accidental Free License activations from the back end.


1. Which licenses have been reverted
A. If you have used Hitman Pro on a machine BEFORE 2011-06-17 (build 124) then the Free License is deleted from the back end.

B. If you have used Hitman Pro FOR THE FIRST TIME on a computer BETWEEN 2011-06-17 and 2011-07-16 then your Free License could not be reverted. You may contact me for a license.


2. Return of the Free License button
Deleting a license from the back end doesn't bring back the Free License button.

You need to delete the HitmanPro.lic from your PC and restart Hitman Pro and go to the License tab under Settings.

The HitmanPro.lic file is located in the {LocalAppData} folder. This translates into the following folder:

XP C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Hitman Pro\
Vista C:\ProgramData\Hitman Pro\
Win7 C:\ProgramData\Hitman Pro\

We will release build 128 today so that you don't have to delete the HitmanPro.lic file manually.

NOTE: Only if your computer used Hitman Pro before 2011-06-17 (matching item 1A, see above) then you should delete the HitmanPro.lic. Otherwise you will be treated with an error mentioned in item 3 (see below).

3. What if the above did not work for me?
If you click the Free License button and get the "Your free trial period for Hitman Pro is expired." message box then your license (on that computer) was not eligible for the revert (the back end did not delete the activation). See also item 1 above.

Again, if you think your computer was not included in the revert (see item 1) then contact me and I will give you a free license.
