SearchMyFiles jest alternatywą dla standardowego modułu systemu Windows „Wyszukaj pliki i foldery”. Narzędzie to pozwala na łatwe wyszukiwanie plików w systemie poprzez symbole, poprzez ostatnio zmodyfikowane lub utworzone, według właściwości pliku, zawartości pliku (wg. tekstu lub wyszukiwania binarnego) oraz wielkości pliku. SearchMyFiles pozwala na wykonywanie bardzo precyzyjnego wyszukiwania. Na przykład można wyszukiwać wszystkie pliki tworzone w ostatnich 10 minutach o wielkości pomiędzy 500 i 700 bajtów. Po wykonaniu wyszukiwania można wybrać jeden lub więcej plików i zapisać je do pliku TXT, HTML, CSV, XML lub skopiować do schowka.

Cechy programu SearchMyFiles:
-skanuje foldery i podfoldery
-pozwala określić jeden lub więcej folderów (oddzielone średnikiem), które chcemy wykluczyć ze skanowania
-skanuje według symboli (EXE, DLL, OCX…) – można je również wykluczyć ze skanowania
-wyszukiwanie wielu wartości (np. Nirsoft, Nir Sofer, SearchMyFiles, 123, „abc, 123” lub przy wyszukiwaniu binarnym A1 82 A7 AC, 27 9A CC FF, B2 A1 71 22)
-wyszukiwanie plików o konkretnym rozmiarze, lub określonym przedziale (np. pomiędzy 23o i 846 bajtów)
-wyszukiwanie plików według czasu kiedy zostały utworzone lub zmodyfikowane w ostatnim czasie (np. 10 minut).

  • Added option to change the sorting column from the menu (View -> Sort By). Like the column header click sorting, if you click again the same sorting menu item, it'll switch between ascending and descending order. Also, if you hold down the shift key while choosing the sort menu item, you'll get a secondary sorting.
  • Updated to work properly in high DPI mode.

Version 3.15:
  • Added new options to 'Summary Mode': 'Only folders with zero files and subfolders' and 'Only folders with zero files'
  • You can use the new options to search empty folders on your system: First, click the 'Reset To Default' button to ensure that all files are scanned. Type the base folder to search, choose 'Summary Mode' in the Search Mode combo-box and then choose one of the new options: 'Only folders with zero files and subfolders' or 'Only folders with zero files'. If you choose the first option, only completely empty folders without files or folders will be displayed. If you choose the second option, SearchMyFiles will also display folders with subfolders, as long as the folder and all its subfolders are empty from files.
  • Added 'Delete Selected Empty Folders' option to delete the empty folders found in the empty folders search. This delete option works only if the folder is completely empty, without files or subfolders.
