Imgur jest jednym z najpopularniejszych hostingów zdjęć i grafiki. Istniały tam dwa rodzaje kont: darmowe i płatne. Na tym pierwszym można było przechowywać 225 obrazków i nie miało się dostępu do zaawansowanych funkcji. Obsługa konta płatnego kosztowało 23 USD rocznie lub 3 USD miesięcznie.

Z okazji 6. urodzin postanowiono zrezygnować z wersji premium. Od wczoraj Imgur Pro jest darmowy dla wszystkich użytkowników, którzy teraz będą mogli przechowywać nieograniczoną ilość zdjęć na swoim koncie. Dostępne będą też miniaturki obrazków w różnych rozmiarach oraz narzędzia do edycji i zarządzania grafiką.

Z drugiej strony będą też pewne ograniczenia. Pojawią się reklamy a maksymalny rozmiar przesyłanego obrazka nie może być większy niż 5 MB z wyjątkiem plików GIF - do 200 MB. Dostępny też będzie dla wszystkich panel ze statystykami i analizami każdego konta.

Użytkownicy, którzy w ciągu ostatnich 30 dni opłacili usługę Pro, otrzymają całkowity zwrot pieniędzy.
