MuseScore jest darmowym edytorem nutowym utworów muzycznych. Stworzony początkowo hobbistycznie przez Wernera Schweera stał się projektem rozwijanym teraz przez ponad 150 współpracowników z całego świata. Z programem możemy tworzyć partytury na wirtualnych kartkach z pięciolinią.

Podstawowe cechy to: nieograniczona liczba pięciolinii, dodawanie nazwy tworzonego utworu, notatek i obrazów do partytury, nieograniczona liczba zwrotek, pomniejszanie pięciolinii, automatyczne pozycjonowanie nut w akordach, notacja perkusyjna, belkowanie przez pięciolinie, funkcja wydruku. Zapis nut możemy wykonać za pomocą klawiatury komputera, myszy lub klawiatury MIDI. Tworzone utwory możemy odsłuchiwać na bieżąco.

Do MuseScore można dodać wtyczki, które powiększają jego możliwości. Program importuje i eksportuje pliki w formatach MusicXML i MIDI. Stworzony utwór możemy zapisać do formatów: .mid, .pdf, .xml, .png i innych. MuseScore może być alternatywą dla bardzo rozbudowanych i płatnych programów do tworzenia partytur takich jak Sibelius czy Finale.

After the release of MuseScore 2.3.1 on July 6th 2018, we found a couple of regressions that we addressed in MuseScore 2.3.2, released on July 31st 2018. We also updated all languages to latest translations.
