FotoSketcher to w pełni darmowe narzędzie, za pomocą którego zamienimy cyfrowe zdjęcie w dzieło sztuki. Zaledwie jednym kliknięciem myszki, przetworzymy modyfikowaną fotografię w obrazek artystyczny z dostępnych ponad 20 różnych stylów graficznych. Dzięki temu, użytkownicy mogą stworzyć szkice, malowidła, karykatury, a także inne dzieła sztuki rysowane akwarelą, piórem bądź atramentem.

Aplikacja posiada czytelny interfejs, dzięki czemu obsługa jest bardzo prosta. Ponadto program umożliwia podgląd w czasie rzeczywistym dokonywanych zmian i porównywania ich z pierwotną wersją zdjęcia. Oprócz tego użytkownicy mogą poprawić jakość edytowanego zdjęcia cyfrowego, modyfikując jego poziom kontrastu, jasności, nasycenia barw.

Bug fix list:

- solved the occasional error message in French at startup ("n'est pas une valeur entière")
- solved the issue where on a few machines (on some PCs and Macs using WineHQ), the optimized code for rotating images and brushes did not work correctly (it breaks Pencil Sketch 1 and Painting 4).
- for Linux and MacOS users, FotoSketcher should now run correctly under WineHQ and Crossover
- fixed the drop down menus and icons which did not appear correctly in WineHQ
- in Painting 4, the directory for custom brushes is now saved to avoid unnecessary navigating between folders
- the main window position is now saved between uses
- fixed the dropdown effects menu which sometimes prevented using the vintage or the merge images effect
- fixed the Pencil Sketch 2 preview which was not accurate
- probably added a bunch new bugs. Will fix in v3.80

• Larger preview area (21% larger) with a new rotating "in progress" icon
• Painting 4 can now run without erasing the previous painting. This can be useful to mix effects or to start with broad brushtrokes and then load finer brushes and run the effect again. To run Painting 4 without erasing the previous image, RIGHT-CLICK on the Draw button instead of left-clicking.
• The scripting function (press the F5 function key to open the window) can also run the Painting 4 effect without erasing the result image. Just add the line "Don't erase background" before adding a Painting 4 effect line in your script.
• Painting 4 now has an svg export (once the effect has finished, a SVG button will appear, below the HD button). This exports the basic rectangles, not the brushstrokes.
• Pencil Sketch 1 has been refined (less blurry)
• Custom transparent PNG frames are now supported, with 'autofit' and full preview
• In the "modify source image" dialog box (F9 function key), a new icon is displayed on the saturation line. When clicked, it will automatically improve color vibrancy of the source image.
• Custom brush directory for Painting 4 is now saved between sessions
• A new language is now supported, Danish, thanks to the translation by Kenneth TOLLUND
• Lot's of small UI enhancements and bug fixes
• All versions (32bit, 64bit, portable and setup) are now digitally signed for added security and hopefully fewer false positive from antiviruses

Both versions have been digitally signed in order to avoid Windows blocking the download.

Here is a list of all changes and improvements in this release:

Main bug fixes:

• preview would not update when changing a parameter value
• issues when minimizing of the parameter window
• issues with image rotation
• program freeze when going to the fotosketcher.com website from the "About window"
• program would sometimes freeze when changing the opacity of text

New features:

• New Painting 11 advanced painterly effect, which allows custom brushes (transparent png images)
• In addition to Painting 4, possibility to run Painting 9 (watercolor) and the new Painting 11 on the current image, without starting from a blank canvas. This allows much more versatility and is supported in the scripting engine
• Parameter files and script files made with older versions of FotoSketcher can be loaded
• Directories for loading and saving images are saved, allowing easier navigation
• Directories for loading and saving scripts and custom brushes are also saved

FotoSketcher 3.90 for Windows remains 100% free, even for commercial work (e.g. selling your images produced with FotoSketcher. No royalty or attribution necessary).

Here is an example made with FotoSketcher 3.90 using the new Painting 11 effect, followed by the Painting 9 effect (with the new "Don't erase background" checkbox ticked).

Changes in FotoSketcher 3.95:​

Main bug fixes:​

• a bug related to the default printer could prevent FotoSketcher from running
• the manual brush would not work properly when the custom frame was applied with “autofit” on
• the program would sometimes freeze when going to the fotosketcher.com website from the “About FotoSketcher” window
• various small speed and stability enhancements

New and improved features:​

• New Pencil Sketch 5 effect (replaces the previous one)
• New Light style for improved legibility
• Possibility to run FotoSketcher in silent mode (via the command line interface or by editing a shortcut to pass parameters). The syntax is as follows:
  FotoSketcher.exe -silent Source.jpg Dest.jpg 18 80 180 40 50 255 n y n
  where Source.jpg and Dest.jpg are respectively the filenames for the source image and the processd image, followed by the effect number (1 is Pencil Sketch 1, 2 is Pencil Sketch 2, etc…), followed by the 5 parameter values, and finally n/y for soften edges, frame and texture.
  For advanced users, this could be used to pilot FotoSketcher from another graphics program.
• The standard custom frame has been updated and will adapt better (less distortion) to the image ratio (square, portrait or landscape)
• Right-clicking on the small custom frame pictogram in the top-right corner reverts the custom frame to the default one if you had loaded another.

• Batch Processing is Back: By popular demand, you can once again apply your favorite artistic effects to multiple images simultaneously. Access the batch mode window simply by pressing CTRL+B, select your images, choose your effect and parameters, and let FotoSketcher do the rest.
• Two New Photo Effects: Vintage Sepia and Retro Film effects - perfect for giving your photos that classic, timeless look or a nostalgic old-school film vibe.
• Expanded Language Support: The interface now includes 14 different languages and features automatic system language detection at startup - FotoSketcher will automatically match your operating system's language. To change languages press CTRL+L.
• Manual Brush Panning: Navigating your canvas while using the manual brush is now possible. Just hold CTRL + Left Mouse Button to click and drag to pan around your image.
• UI & Performance Enhancements: The user interface has been refined for a cleaner look and smoother experience. Updates include larger buttons, a bigger preview window, a new photo frame, and overall improved stability.
• Bug Fixes: I've resolved a number of underlying issues, including the frustrating app freeze that some of you experienced after the splashscreen in version 4.0. The entire launch sequence has been reworked to eliminate this problem. I also fixed specific issues with the preview window and the text tool. The macOS version in particular has received a lot of attention, with fixes for focus and window activation.

FotoSketcher 4.20​

I am very happy to announce that FotoSketcher version 4.20 is now available for download. A big thank you to everyone who tested the beta version and provided such helpful feedback. Let's be blunt, I am quite proud of the new tools and improvements in this update. Hopefully I did not introduce too many new bugs...

Here is a breakdown of what is new in this release:

- Three new effectsAs some of you requested, I have ported two classic effects from the old Windows-only 3.98 version: Watercolor 2 and Brushstrokes 2. I have also added a completely new Comic print effect, which is great for giving your photos a classic graphic novel look.

- Advanced Scripting and Batch ModeThe new Script Editor is fully up and running. It allows you to write custom scripts to apply a specific sequence of effects. To help you get started, a reference sheet is included, along with a ready-to-use default script straight out of the box that combines three different watercolor renderings. Best of all, the script engine is fully compatible with batch mode, meaning you can apply your custom sequences to an entire folder of images automatically.

- History Gallery UpgradesI have added a new circular magnifying glass preview for the history gallery. This makes it much easier to inspect the fine details of your different image versions before saving. You can also now set any image directly from a thumbnail in the history gallery as your new source or result image, giving you a lot more versatility in your workflow.

- Menu and Workflow AdditionsThe main menu is now more complete. I have added a "Combine source/result" option (F11) to easily merge or blend your images, and a convenient "Check for update" function directly in the menu so you can easily stay on the latest version.

Other improvements

• The Watercolor 1 effect now works much better when the "Erase background" option is deselected.
• After weeding out the last few bugs, this version also includes various UI tweaks and stability improvements under the hood.
