Marking an email urgent in Franz Mail could still leave you staring at an empty priority inbox. A deadline mix-up was keeping those messages out of view.

FIXED​

  • Important mail stopped being hidden by misread deadlines. Franz could read a deadline as a date before the email was sent. That mistake no longer kept the message out of your priority inbox, including mail you'd marked urgent.

If an iMessage chat kept you switching back to Messages, this update brought it alongside your other Services on Mac. Each Workspace also got its own sidebar, and search got better at finding an older message when you couldn't quite remember the spelling or date. And with your Friend Pass, you can now give a friend 30 days of Max.

New​

  • Added iMessage on Mac for reading and sending messages, including photos, files and voice recordings. Available on macOS 13 or newer in the direct-download version only, not the Mac App Store version.
  • Added Friend Pass: share your link from Settings > Invite a friend and your friend gets 30 days of Max. Once they subscribe and their paid time reaches 30 days, you earn a month of your plan, or a month of Pro if you're on Free.
  • Gave each Workspace its own sidebar, with its own Service order and separators you can name. Settings > Sidebar replaced the Services and Workspaces pages, and a Service can now show up in several Workspaces.
  • Something spooky is coming your way.

Improved​

  • Made Magic Bar search more forgiving of typos, accents and phone-number formatting. Date phrases such as "last week" became removable filters.
  • Showed search results as each source finished. Recent picks, a Top Hit and details explaining why results matched made them easier to choose.
  • Made Ask Franz follow your current search and filters, with links back to the message or event behind an answer.
  • Made Signal chats easier to read, with clearer previews and larger photos. Narrow windows got a layout focused on the open chat.
  • Added Service names to desktop notifications, with contact photos or Service icons to help you recognise the source.

Fixed​

  • Kept Signal drafts and attachments with the conversation they belonged to when you switched chats.
  • Kept your place in Signal chats as older messages and photos loaded.
  • Fixed newly linked Signal accounts needing a restart to receive messages. Unlinking Franz from your phone brought back setup.
  • Made Signal respect Mute all and its Service notification and sound settings.
  • Preserved local sidebar edits when signing in and syncing across devices.
  • Stopped background mail sync from undoing read marks, stars and folder changes.
  • Removed hidden calendars from Magic Bar results immediately.
  • Fixed inserting Snippets into Franz Mail replies.
  • Stopped long attachment names from overflowing the Franz Mail reading pane.
  • Fixed errors when using GPT-6 models with your own OpenAI API key.

Under the hood​

  • Reduced startup freezes with large Franz Mail accounts.
  • Kept mail search responsive while large mailboxes synced in the background.
