Po rozpakowaniu i uruchomieniu instalatora offline możesz wybrać między wersją beta, a stabilną. Wybieramy także wersję systemu jaki posiadamy, 64-bit (x64) lub 32-bit (x86). W tym aktualizatorze możesz również wybrać język, w którym ma być zainstalowany przenośny Thunderbird. Wszystkie języki, które Mozilla oferuje dla Thunderbirda, są dostępne w Portable Thunderbird Updater. Na pulpicie można utworzyć skrót do programu uruchamiającego.
