Rapid Environment Editor (w skrócie RapidEE) to bezpłatny edytor zmiennych środowiskowych dla systemu Windows. Pozwala on w łatwy i wygodny sposób modyfikować wartości zmiennych, będąc tym samym idealną alternatywą dla wbudowanego w systemie narzędzia do obsługi zmiennych systemowych i użytkownika.
Program pozwala na wygodne zarządzanie wszelakimi zmiennymi środowiskowymi, jakie zdefiniowane zostały w systemie Windows na naszym komputerze. Dwie kolumny, w głównym oknie narzędzia, zawierają zbiór zmiennych systemowych oraz zmiennych użytkownika. Znajdziemy tutaj również podstawowe informacje na ich temat oraz bardziej szczegółowe opisy. Zmienne prezentowane są w postaci drzewa, które ułatwia wyszukiwanie interesujących nas wartości. Dużym atutem narzędzia jest fakt, że pozwala ono uniknąć typowych błędów, często popełnianych przy modyfikowaniu zmiennych środowiskowych z użyciem mechanizmów systemowych - tj. zła ścieżka do pliku, brak przecinków lub znaków specjalnych itp.
Poza podstawowymi funkcjami kopiowania, wklejania i usuwania zmiennych, RapidEE umożliwia również dodawanie nowych zmiennych i wartości, edycję już istniejących, wstawianie ścieżek do plików lub folderów, modyfikowanie typu zmiennej oraz konwertowanie ścieżek. Ponadto edytor potrafi tworzyć kopie zapasowe zmiennych zapisywane w postaci klucza rejestru (plik z rozszerzeniem REG).
