• Fixed several cases of resource leaks - TCP structures and mutex/lock order/synchronization errors that occurred under high loads when TCP returned errors when working with sockets and creating threads.
• The resource cleanup/release function has been extensively reworked. Some resources are released more dynamically.
• Increased the threshold for when NAT port identifiers are close to exhaustion to 15/16 of the range.
• Separated IPv4 and IPv6 code at the function level. This improved protection against resource exhaustion.
• The algorithm for generating TCP RST packets in the driver has been changed.

+ Added filtering based on the SNI (Server Name Indication) domain name transmitted at the start of HTTPS sessions (during connection establishment).
+ Added display of hostnames for HTTP and HTTPS protocols in the TCP connections window.
- Fixed an issue in versions 3.5.6 and 3.5.7 that could lead to a deadlock when processing certain ICMPv6 packets.
- Fixed an error in the checksum calculation for the initial TCPv6 SYN packet that caused a 1–3 second delay in establishing TCPv6 connections.
+ Switched to release-optimized versions of mutex-handling classes (the code is now noticeably more concise and slightly faster).
+ Switched to using constexpr string literals in the window application, which allowed removing some synchronized string initialization code.

+ Self-signed driver update:
* Added support for network card drivers that use a resource-shortage flag mechanism during reception to ensure synchronous operation.
* Removed redundant synchronization operations when handling driver pools.
* Optimized access speeds for packet contexts.
- These changes had little impact on data transfer speeds, though there may have been a slight improvement. On older PCs in a 10-gigabit network, the average receive speed is around 6 Gbps, while the transmit speed is noticeably lower - in the 1–2 Gbps range (we do not yet know how to increase this). PCs with 13th-generation processors achieve full speeds (see the 2.5-gigabit network test below).
+ Various minor changes.

+ Significant speed optimization for the self-signed driver: around ten different types of optimizations were implemented. The most impactful changes - those that boosted performance - include increasing the number of buffers (packets), reusing NDIS buffers and buffers lists, and utilizing and additional using of lock-free lists and processor instructions. Speed drops during data transfer have been reduced, transmission speeds have improved, and speed is less dependent on CPU load from other applications.
+ Increased the number of TCP connections and HTTP requests included in journals reports.
+ Minor additional changes.
* The screenshots below show test results, following the same format as the previous version. On older PCs in a 10-gigabit network, the average receive speed for single FTP connections was approximately 6.74 Gbps, while the send speed was 4.43 Gbps. In a 2.5-gigabit network, single-stream transfer speeds reach the maximum rate, though speeds are lower under load or during simultaneous bidirectional transfers.

RusRoute firewall v3.6.4

New in this version:
+ The shared buffer pool with hybrid/lock-free allocation—introduced in the previous version for TCP proxy connections—has now been extended to all other types of filters, including those for HTTP, HTTPS, and FTP. Each buffer is 128 KB in size. While this approach improves memory efficiency, the gains are modest; because buffers in the pool are allocated in powers of two, many often remain unused, and the pool does not dynamically return allocated buffers to the system.
+ The GUI application caption now displays the number of buffers currently in use versus the total number of buffers allocated.
+ Minor, incidental optimizations to improve the speed of the HTTP filter. The filter operating speed is more than 3.7 Gbps, and more than 2 Gbps under extreme loads.
- Fixed an issue in versions 3.6.1-3.6.3 where TCP proxy connections might not have finished automatically.
