PIN recovery reminder​

We are improving our system that resets PIN code for your secret disk in case you forgot it. Every day several customers get locked because they didn't provide recovery email address. In such cases we can do nothing and such users loose all their data on the secret disk.

We are trying to push our users to provide recovery email address, but many of you still ignore this option. Please, open preferences of the Secret Disk app and check that you have up to date email address for PIN recovery. Otherwise, our app will ask you automatically every month. Its an additional reminder for security, please don't ignore it.

We can describe this update with just two words: security and style. So, what we did?
- Replaced old font "Tahoma" with a new "Arial". In general, these are the most common fonts on Windows OS. However, font "Arial" is more smooth. May be you won't notice difference, but all texts will become more natural, and your eyes will like it.
- Improved security. We have implemented one of security algorithms to better protect us and our users. We cannot describe any details to public because this change related to security.
- Fixed issue with automatic registration of Professional version.

Added new free function​

As you may be know, our app already have an option to retrieve forgotten PIN code via email. However, what to do in case if your email address is no longer accessible?

Introducing new function - reset PIN code without email confirmation. Please note that for security purposes all contents of the secret disk will be deleted too (all your files on the secret disk will be deleted). Use with caution!

Later we will add an option to hide this function, if you don't like it. This new functions comes for free for all our users.

• In this release we have added indicator of available free space for each secret disk. You can see amount of available free space when the secret disk is open, near button "Close". Please note that this is amount of shared disk space, which means disk space shared between all your secret disks.

Added privacy protection​

Our app will no longer collect technical information about your computer. Previously, according our privacy policy, we may collect some anonymous technical data, but now - not. All API which were related to data collection were removed from the app starting this release.

Please note that personal information was never collected and will never be collected.

The information about we are talking now related to computer only, like how many processors you have or what is the screen resolution of your display. This information cannot be used to personally identify you, it's anonymous and completely technical. It helps us to create better software for you when we know what type of hardware our users have.

A new function has been added to the preferences area of our app. Now you can disable recovery email address which appears on the login screen. This option was made for security, and now you can disable it.
Also, we made light changes in design of preferences screen, now it looks better.

• Fixed critical bug when a user ignores app's message and click button without reading an alert. Such behaviour leads to losing user's data. We made some changes to prevent blind clicks when its important. Now user forced to read and understand important messages.
• Application window size has been reduced a little bit. It is now more convenient to use. It looks like app lost some weight on our special diet

This release fixes small bug with the red dot that randomly appeared on the main screen. It was just an interface issue and it's not related to the app's functionality or security. However, guys we are very sorry for that. It's fixed now.
