TagSpaces to program do tagowania wszystkich plików na dysku twardym, umożliwiając znacznie szybsze wyszukiwanie. Pracę z TagSpaces rozpoczynamy od przeprowadzenia indeksowania całej zawartości dysku lub wybranego folderu oraz nadania nazwy projektu.

Wszystkie pliki są sortowane według formatu, a za pomocą pojedynczego kliknięcia myszą można otwierać dokumenty, dodawać tagi, określać poziom ważności, status wykonania czy termin ukończenia tzw. deadline. Dane wyświetlimy na kilka sposobów np. w siatce, w postaci listy czy wizualizując folder.
