Clonezilla to darmowe i uniwersalne narzędzie do klonowania i tworzenia kopii zapasowych partycji oraz całych dysków twardych. Program przydatny jest szczególnie w sytuacjach kryzysowych, gdy na skutek awarii bądź innych okoliczności trzeba szybko odtwarzać infrastrukturę informatyczną. Co ciekawe, aplikacja – oprócz systemu Windows – wspiera również Mac OS i większość dystrybucji Linuksa.

By rozpocząć korzystanie z aplikacji, należy przede wszystkim przenieść ją na nośnik rozruchowy (bootowalny). Tę rolę może pełnić zarówno lokalny dysk twardy, jak i urządzenie przenośne – płyta CD, pendrive lub dysk przenośny na USB.

Przy pomocy bootowalnego nośnika i po ustawieniu właściwej kolejności rozruchu w BIOSie możemy przejść do tworzenia kopii lub klonów partycji lub dysków. Najważniejsze możliwości tej funkcji to m.in:
• wsparcie wielu systemów plików: od popularnych FAT (12, 16, 32) i NTFS, poprzez HFS+ i systemy ext 2, 3, 4, xfs, jfs, btrfs, aż po egzotyczne systemy właściwe dla FreeBSD, NetBSD czy OpenBSD,
• obsługa formatów partycji MBR i GPT,
• wsparcie dla mechanizmu LVM2,
• możliwość przeinstalowania bootloadera (programu rozruchowego),
• opcja przywrócenia jednego obrazu dysku/partycji na więcej niż jedno urządzenie lokalne,
• możliwość zapisania sklonowanego obrazu na dysku twardym, serwerze ssh, samba lub NFS.

Rozwijana od ok. 10 lat Clonezilla to jedno z najbardziej znanych i popularnych narzędzi w swojej klasie. Oprócz wersji Live, Clonezilla występuje też w wersji SE (Server Edition), przeznaczonej do zastosowań masowych i bardziej skomplikowanej w obsłudze. Obie wersje są w pełni bezpłatne, nawet do zastosowań komercyjnych.

• The underlying GNU/Linux operating system was upgraded. This release is based on the Debian Sid repository (as of 2020/Jun/30).
• Linux kernel was updated to 5.7.6-1.
• ocs-iso, ocs-live-dev: sync syslinux-related files when copying syslinux exec files.
• When creating recovery iso/zip file, if it's in Clonezilla live environment, we have those syslinux files. Use that first so the version mismatch can be avoided. Ref:

• Move grub-header.cfg from bootx64.efi to grub.cfg so that it's more flexible.
• To avoid conflict with the patch of grub in CentOS/Fedora, for GRUB EFI NB MAC/IP config style, the netboot file is now like grub.cfg-drbl-00:50:56:01:01:01 and grub.cfg-drbl-192.168.177.2 not grub.cfg-01-* anymore.
• Add xen-tools
• Partclone was updated to 0.3.14. The codes about xfs was updated to be 4.20.0.
• Package exfat-fuse was removed since the kernel has module for that.
• A better mechanism to deal with linuxefi/initrdefi or linux/initrd in the grub config was added.

BUG FIXES

• The command in Info-saved-by-cmd.txt was not correctly saved when ocs-sr is run directly, not from the TUI interactive mode.
• Set ntp off in live-hook for Clonezilla/DRBL/GParted live. The previous method does not work. Thanks Jay B. for identify this issue.
• Comment "IPAPPEND 1" in PXE config file. It fails the live-boot when pxebooting a clonezilla/drbl live client.
• Exclude loop device as 1st-disk is used for device name in ocs-sr, since /dev/loop0 is for filesystem.squashfs from Clonezilla live.
