If your iPhone kept showing iMessages as unread after you'd read them in Franz, this update fixed that. Clicking a notification worked again, you could send your next iMessage while the last one was still on its way, and opening a new reply in Franz Mail marked it read the first time.

New​

• Added iMessage read and unread syncing with Messages and your other devices on macOS 27. Opening a chat, or reading one while you were using Franz, marked it read there too, following your read receipt settings in Messages. This needs the updated Franz iMessage shortcut.

Improved​

• Kept Send available in iMessage while messages and attachments were on their way, with everything sent in order.
• Made photos and files appear in iMessage chats as soon as you pressed Send. Photos kept their previews while loading.
• Extended Magic Bar search to your whole iMessage history, not just recent messages.

Fixed​

• Fixed desktop notifications doing nothing when clicked, including those opened later from your notification centre.
• Fixed new emails and replies staying unread after you opened them in Franz Mail. Manual unread marks survived background refreshes.
• Fixed sending iMessage photos, files and voice recordings through the shortcut on macOS 27. This needs an update to the Franz iMessage shortcut.
• Fixed iMessage setup getting stuck when Shortcuts kept both the old and updated shortcut.
• Kept iMessage drafts and files available after a failed send, with a warning when retrying might send a duplicate.
• Stopped new iMessage groups getting stuck or losing your next draft while the first message was sending.
• Stopped iMessage photos showing the wrong preview when another photo arrived from your phone.
• Replaced broken HEIC and TIFF previews with file cards while their previews loaded.
• Stopped an iMessage search result pulling you back after you'd switched to another chat.
