WinAntiRansom Beta 2

Thank you for your patience.

Please note, this is Beta-2. If you do not have tolerance for programs not working 100% immediately upon installation, then you may want to wait for the full release before installing WinAntiRansom. We anticipate this by mid-November at the latest.

What we fixed/added:

We fixed the bug in beta-1 that resulted in many people receiving an invalid datetime error.
We added support for 32-bit operating systems. (Except Windows XP)
Enhanced the installer to require shutdown of tray application prior to execution.
Added automatic notification of updates.
Added Start/Stop WinAntiRansom Protection menu options to the Tray Application.
PreEmptive Strike, SafeZone and Access History are working well.
Known issues with Beta-2:

Only detects 32-bit processes. (64-bit process detection will be the next feature added)
Network Lockdown and Protected Registry are not yet available.

What we fixed/added:
•Added ability to monitor 64-bit processes. (Support Windows Vista – Window 10)
•Added Auto-Discovery feature which searches your computer on installation/update for known programs.
•Added ability to manually run Auto-Discovery on demand.

•Added the count of items in each screen to the page header.

•WinAntiRansom (WARSvc) now starts reliably on all supported operating systems, including Windows 10.


Known issues with Beta-2:
•Network Lockdown and Protected Registry are not yet available.
•Support for Windows XP is still lacking.

Beta-5 contains all features that will ship with WinAntiRansom. The only piece of the puzzle still missing is support for Windows XP, but that is coming.

Beta-5 includes the following fixes/improvements:

Fixed issues causing excessive CPU Usage.
Fixed issue causing failure of protection on Windows 8 and 10 installations.
Fixed issue causing Access History not to show data on Windows 8 and 10 installations.
Added both Network Lockdown and Protected Registry Features.
Added ability to configure Protected Registry on both the Protected Registry and Settings pages.
Added ability to “whitelist” folders on Programs page. (This comes in handy for programs that download unsigned, dynamic content)
Added “Easy Mode” for configuring common whitelist across all features.
Improved Blocking Description messages for Pre-Emptive Strike protected registry keys.
Cleaned up menus on each page.
Known issues with Beta-5:

Not yet compatible with Windows XP.

Beta-6 contains some significant improvements in the tray application and service.

Beta-6 includes the following fixes/improvements:

Tray application now runs as an administrator, improving quality and speed of detections
Fixes crashing issues in tray application.
Dramatically improves performance in all components.
Fixed page and right-click menus in Explorer.
Fixed various crashing bugs in service and explorer.
Things yet to do:

Improve Ransomware detections. We are good but not where we need to be.
Additional/Significant reduction in CPU and disk usage in service is coming.
Not yet compatible with Windows XP.
